It’s about freakin time!
I started summer school on Monday. I am taking a class on how to teach students with learning disabilities and other various special needs. It’s about freakin time! I have probably 7 or 8 of these such students and they’ve been sitting in my classroom all year! I’m finally learning how to make accommodations for them to give them equal access to the curriculum. If only I had known these things at the beginning of the year. Right!? Oh, well, better late than never…I mean at least I have five weeks of actually being able to meet their needs to try to cram as much knowledge into their heads as possible. They’ll pull through. And if they are awarded the privilege of being in my classroom again next year (God forbid), think of all the learning we’ll achieve together!!
