Though I have my qualms with Parker Palmer, author and motivator, he has some wise words to share in his book, The Courage to Teach, which I am required to read for my graduate class on catechetical leadership:

The community of truth, far from being linear and static and hierarchical, is circular, interactive, and dynamic…I know of no field, from science to religion, where what we regard as objective knowledge did not emerge from long and complex communal discourse that continues to this day, no field where the facts of the matter were delivered fully formed from on high.

Good words, my man. Let our minds and hearts continue to be formed and transformed by the unique experiences of everyone around us. Let us seek truth and never be deceived to believe we have it all figured out.
